The SYSMAC CVM1 brings intelligence to large-scale machine control. A faster and more complete instruction set simplifies process control, data processing, and other control tasks. And there's plenty of I/O capacity to handle large-scale systems with CPU models that support up to 2,048 local I/O points. 

You also get three-level network communications with SYSMAC LINK, Controller Link, and/or Ethernet networks to easily achieve high-speed system control. The SYSMAC CVM1 is the ideal Programmable Controller for machine control in systems requiring data processing.

Better Functionality

Simplify Complex Control Operation with New Instructions (125 Instructions with 204 Variations)

Floating-point arithmetic, symbol math, PID, and many other new instructions have been added to simplify everything from data processing and process control through high-speed positioning and other complex operations. It all adds up to more efficient programming.

Capacity to Handle Large-scale Control: New CPU with 2,048 I/O Point Capacity

A 62K-word user memory and 24K-word data memory also provide the added capacity needed to handle complex operations for large-scale control.

System Control through Advanced Units

A Motion Control Unit provides 4-axis position control capability, while a Personal Computer Unit places DOS right on the PC Rack. And a Temperature Controller Data Link Unit manages data from multiple temperature controllers. These, and other CPU Bus Units achieve easy system control.

SYSMAC C-Series Compatibility

The SYSMAC Support Software allows you to program ladder diagrams that can be used both for the CVM1 and for C-series PCs.

High-speed Communications

Various networks provide communications designed for essentially every level of FA production: between PCs, between PCs and host computers, or between PCs and other system components. High-speed communications processed asynchronously with the PC's cycle time are also possible.

Communications Across Three Hierarchies

Connect Programming Devices to monitor and program the local node or go through Host Link, SYSMAC LINK, Controller Link, Ethernet, or SYSMAC BUS/2 networks to monitor and program other nodes. You can also connect Programming Devices to Remote I/O Racks or Expansion I/O Racks to enable monitoring and programming across networks.

Ethernet

The CVM1 communicates easily with computers via an Ethernet network using the TCP/IP or UDP/IP international protocols. The CVM1's Ethernet Unit also supports a File Transfer Protocol, which enables file transfers as well. FINS (Factory Interface Network Service), a message communications protocol developed by OMRON for its FA controllers, also enables easy reading and writing of PC memory.

OMRON SYSMAC CVM1D Programmable Controller   

Double Power Supply Units and CPU Units Offer High Reliability 

CVM1D Programmable Controllers inherit the advantages from the CV/CVM1 Series and go a step further by incorporating double systems for higher reliability.

These PCs are available as a simplex system with double Power Supply Units or as a duplex system with double Power Supply Units and CPU Units. Duplex systems offer even higher reliability than conventional CV/CVM1-series systems.

Duplex System 
Hot Standby Method

 The hot standby method is a method where the two CPU units are simultaneously performing calculating functions. One CPU Unit performs control functions and the other is placed on standby while it is executing the calculating functions. 

 If the CPU Unit performing control functions detects an error and stops, then control functions switch immediately over to the CPU Unit that is on standby. The two CPU Units are synchronized to process program, data memory, timer, counter, and other data in order to ensure a smooth transition between them.

Online I/O Unit Switching 

I/O Units on CPU, CPU Expansion, and I/O Expansion Racks can be replaced from the Programming Console while the system is running unless a Special I/O Unit is mounted on the same Rack.

Advanced Communications Functions

Compatibility with information-based networks

Data can be exchanged with a host computer through an Ethernet Unit via the TCP/IP, UDP/IP and FTP information-based network protocols.

Communications between CVM1 and CV, CVM1 and C, as well as between CVM1 Units 

Controller Link, SYSMAC LINK or other Link Units can be used to build networks that link Programmable Controllers for C, CV, and CVM1 Units.

Building multi-vendor networks using CompoBus/D 

CompoBus/D can be used to build a component bus capable of controlling a maximum of 63 Remote I/O Units, or a combines maximum of 2,048 I/O points. Since CompoBus/D conforms to DeviceNet standards, any DeviceNet slave units made it the world can be used on the network.

The present system is capable of processing basic instructions at less than 0.125 µs and special instructions at less then 0.5µs, thus ensuring higher machine productivity.

The present system offers large capacity with 2,048-I/O point capacity, 24-K word data memory capacity (Expansion Data Memory for up to 256K words) and 62K-word program capacity. No need to worry about running out of memory either, even when connected to a PT so that you can experience the full power of all PT Functions.
